ELECTIONS - Occupational Health and Safety Committee
We will conduct an election for members of the OHS Committee and we are seeking nominations for representatives to the OHS Committee.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act, imposes wide ranging obligations on the University to ensure that the University provides a suitable working environment. An important provision of the Act is the establishment of an Occupational Health and Safety Committee. This committee is intended as a forum for employees and management to participate jointly in occupational health and safety matters.
The committee structure requires one representatives to be elected on the University OH&S committee from the following locations:
We are asking for nominations for each of the above roles.
Where there are several nominations. The area will have to run a ballot. Each member elected will hold office for two years. To qualify to stand for nomination a person must be a full time or part time member - 1 representative for the Offices (ITS, Finance, Registrar, Library, VC's Office, Human Resources)

Nominations should be forwarded to Ugo Cernot, OH&S Manager by 15 March 2005.
